Perhaps looking ahead to the cool weather already en route, Kate Upton and Justin Verlander invested in a waterfront home in Florida this summer. The model/actress and MLB pitcher closed on the gated property in the final days of August; the purchase price was $6.55 million.

The residence sits on a 1.1 acre lot in Jupiter, where its soft blue fits in nicely amid the lush green of the landscaping. It contains four bedrooms and six baths—although it looks like an additional bedroom has been purposed as a gym—and a shared living space designed with a relaxed, cottagey feel. The kitchen sports countertops and an island cap of dramatically figured marble.

Overlooking the backyard is the home’s loggia, which transitions to a pool, and then a lawn and putting green. A broad step-down deck is the property’s most unusual feature. It looks out over the water, and is designed with a set of steps for accessing the dock extending into the Loxahatchee River.

The residential holdings of Verlander and Upton also include a Beverly Hills property purchased from tennis star Pete Sampras. The couple closed on that home in 2016.
