While negotiating the closing of her recent $3.5 million purchase of a charming Spanish-style residence in Bell Canyon, California, actress Chrissy Metz had a house in Tarzana on the open market. The This Is Us star listed the property earlier this summer with a $1.9 million asking price, but she didn’t have to wait long for an acceptable offer: the 1966-built modern is currently listed in pending status.

The 3,236 sq. ft. house contains five bedrooms and four baths in its single floor, and sits on a .42-acre hilltop lot. In back, the property’s outdoor living style develops into a classically warm space, with red brick contrasting with the abundant green of the landscaping—the many mature trees that border the grounds.

The shared living area of this home includes a combination kitchen, dining room and family room with wide-plank oak and skylights; the exterior wall of this large central gathering point is a bank of sliding glass doors that open onto the brick patio and pool.

Metz’s recent films include 2019’s Breakthrough, with Topher Grace and Dennis Haysbert. She also appears in the upcoming feature Stay Awake, which is expected to be released in 2022.
