Bulgari’s Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon is something of a departure for the watchmaker. Although slim, the watch’s case is deeper than the super-thin designs the company is known for producing.
The design takes an Octo Roma watch and incorporates a Carillon minute repeater into it. A carillon which, in this case, chimes a musical indication of the passage of time familiar to anyone who’s heard the clock in Westminster. Marvelous.
The Carillon’s sonorous tones are created, in part, by the temper-hardened gongs in the watch. To further clarify the ringing tones as bell-like, Bulgari used titanium—also very hard—for the case.
The Octo Roma Carillon comes with a power reserve of 75 hours. Only 15 will be produced, priced at $259,000.
