BMW may have built its reputation on luxury cars, but don’t sleep on the Bavarian company’s motorcycles. Case in point: the newly revamped F 800 GS, a bike that can tackle any adventure, on- and off-road.

The iconic hog has been redesigned to include new tank covers, ignition lock covers, and electroplated knee covers and radiator covers. The new radiator cowl appeals with its galvanized look, and there are now five seat height options as well as the ability to lower the suspension, making this mid-sized bike suitable for smaller riders. The liquid-cooled 4-valve 2-cylinder engine produces 85 hp, providing an impressively spontaneous response, remarkable pulling power, and a low level of fuel consumption.

The F 800 GS has a torque of 61 lb/ft, more than enough power reserve to tackle even the toughest off-road challenge. The 6.3-gallon tank has a fuel economy of 55 mpg at 55 mph, which allows riders to explore longer, too. Its core is a torsion-resistant tubular steel frame with spring travel of 9.1 inches at the front and 8.5 inches at the rear, meaning it can handle sand dunes, mountain passes, and river crossings with aplomb. ASC traction control and anti-lock brakes come standard. 2016 MSRP starts at $13,895.
