This month, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian relieved billionaire Ron Burkle of ownership of a spacious lot in La Quinta. The couple paid $6.3 million for the property.

Burkle, you may recall, picked up a pair of Bob Hope’s Palm Springs residences in the second half of the last decade. The purchases included the so-called ‘UFO House’ or ‘Mushroom House’ Hope had architect John Lautner build for him in the 1970s. The second property is more conventional, but no less desirable. As for the West/Kardashian collective, it’s been busy with Wyoming property purchases—nearly a combined $30 million for a large ranch followed by a second one in the final months of last year—as well as an expansion of the sizeable Hidden Hills property the duo has owned since 2014.

What Burkle sold the couple is a double lot that is ready for construction. It’s located in the confines of the Madison Club, an exclusive gated golf community in La Quinta. The property measures about two acres; small potatoes next to the six acres the couple owns in Hidden Hills, but the lot is situated on the famous Madison Club golf course, which was designed by Tom Fazio.
