While Amazon, Google, and Apple might be big names in home assistance technology, Line’s new Champ smart speakers offer a far more adorable alternative.

Providing a much more personal design than the Alexa, Home, or HomePod, messaging app Line’s speakers are modular characters rather than simple cylindrical devices. The characters are based off Line’s Sally the chick and Brown the bear.

In addition to Champ, Line also introduced Wave and Line Face. While in-depth details aren’t yet available, Line’s speakers will utilize its Clova artificial intelligence platform to stream Line Music, offer song suggestions based on mood and environment, or even search for specific songs or artists.

Users can control the speakers by voice, with Line Face having the ability to offer information on the weather, to-do lists, and calendar appointments. The devices are also expected to control smart home devices, learn remote codes, and even act as a speaker for Line chats.

Line will release a music-only model without Clova this summer for $91, while the Clova-enabled Wave is set to arrive this fall with a $136 price tag.
