The special Vanquish Zagato that Aston Martin brought to the 2016 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy was supposed to just be a concept car. But due to the overwhelming response, the British sports car company will produce a limited quantity of the supercar.
The namesake Italian coachbuilder that elevated the already-beautiful Vanquish to the car that shocked crowds in Italy, Zagato used carbon fiber in large panels to get rid of body cut lines and to create a more streamlined body.
The impressive vehicle is equipped with Aston Martin’s oft-used 6.0-liter V12 featuring a boosted output of 592 horsepower that gives the Vanquish Zagato a zero-to-60 mph split of 3.5 seconds.
Aston Martin and Zagato have been working together since 1960 when the two companies teamed up on the DB4 GT Zagato. A 1962 DB4 GT Zagato fetched over $12 million at auction in 2015.
There will only be 99 Vanquish Zagatos produced and pricing will only be revealed to serious customers. Deliveries of the special-edition Vanquish will start in the first quarter of next year.
