For the 2021 model year, Porsche has added to the Cayenne lineup with a pair of updated, priced-down sport options. The model variants are called the Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupe, and they come outfitted with the same 4L V8 engine that drives the Panamera. The Cayenne, on average, is about 10% heavier than the Panamera, but the available 453 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque can still be felt in one’s back pocket.

The Cayenne S’s V6 gives that model 335 HP and 332 lb-ft, filling the role that was, at one time, filled by the Cayenne GTS; the new GTS enters the picture, then, as the best option for performance-minded buyers not looking to spend all-out for the Cayenne Turbo. The updated GTS can reach 60 in as little as 4.2 seconds, with the Sport Chrono package optioned; standard time for the leap is 4.5 seconds, making the base sticker GTS no slouch. Top speed is 168.

Performance tweaks and features include the latest version on the Active Suspension Management system, as well as an option-only exhaust tone for the Coupe that’s intended to hip nearby drivers that you’re driving a souped-up Porsche SUV—the 21” wheels, and extensive badging and black accent drama on the inside and outside of the model variants also fills in the plebeians. The cabin is swathed in Alcantara.
