The estate of late real estate developer Sheldon Solow listed a Hamptons home this summer. The property, which had been the retreat of the billionaire, is currently listed on the open market with an asking price of $70 million.

The estate is anchored by a 10,000 sq. ft. mansion containing seven bedrooms and at least eight baths. The house was designed by architect Paul Rice, and completed in 2010.

The home’s interiors are unpretentious, airy and relaxed, with satin-finished mid-toned plank hardwood and warm off-white tones throughout. French doors open many of the rooms to the connected outdoor living spaces, which add over 2,000 sq. ft. to the total, and marble fireplaces can be spotted in the living room, dining room, library, and upstairs master suite sitting room. Other amenities include a sunroom with a wet bar, a home theater, a gym with a steam shower.

The property measures 13.89 acres in all. The grounds are extraordinarily sylvan; the motor court features a large centerpiece populated by mature trees, and the landscaping neatly balances engineered romance with the natural features of the land nicely, incorporating lawns, plantings and existing forest. The list of outdoor amenities includes a pool, sunlounge and pool house hemmed in by privacy hedges, with the cottage adding 230 sq. ft. to the estate’s total interior living space.

Solow passed away in November of last year. His net worth was north of $4 billion.
