Another of Bob Hope’s three Palm Springs properties has surfaced on the open market.

The appearance of the property follows the so-called ‘Mushroom House’, Hope’s John Lautner-designed custom-built mansion in the desert community, which popped up at $50 million in 2013, and which billionaire businessman Ron Burkle snapped up in November of 2016 for $13 million. A year and a half later Burkle, clearly a Hope fan, picked up the legendary comedian’s Toluca Lake house as well, for $15 million.

If Burkle is paying attention, he’s probably mulling over acquiring this house, too. Though one of the more modest of the three Bob Hope Palm Spring residences to appear in the past decade, this one is in some ways the most livable, a manageable 3,000 sq. ft. modern-ish ranch with a five-bedroom layout, a bright and open common area sporting a wet bar and lots of sliding glass, and .37 acres to stretch out on.

As for the third house that represents Bob & Dolores Hope’s Palm Springs years—a cute little Spanish-style cottage which the couple bought in 1941 as an inaugural property in the city—it last sold in 2013, fetching almost half a mil.

Hope’s career is one of the longest of any comedian, actor, or singer; it spanned nearly 80 years. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 100.
