Russian billionaire businessman Alexei Kuzmichev has relisted Atterbury Mansion, his townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The most recent asking price for the fin-de-siècle house is $41 million; Kuzmichev purchased it in the spring of 2016 for around $42 million.

Kuzmichev apparently had plans to combine the home with an adjacent apartment, and create a 14,000 square foot pied-a-terre residence. But the project never happened, and Atterbury was back on the market later that year for $44 million.

The 10,088 square-foot, 33’x39’ townhouse occupies four floors in a seven-floor building. As it stands, it is quite a travel log of exotic materials and refined expression, with a neutral palette, Palladian windows, a broad variety of contemporary light fixtures, and Chambord limestone, plaster, white oak, slab limestone, and a kitchen boasting Fleuri Stone countertops, Danby vein cut marble, and white lacquer cabinetry.

The layout of the residence begins with a generously proportioned foyer. The garden floor features a guest bedroom opening onto the ground-floor terrace, as well as a large family room; the second floor contains a library and a media room. The living area is on the third floor, and features a living room that measures 33’x23’. The bedrooms occupy the upper floor, with the master bedroom measuring about 640 square feet. All floors are accessible by both stairs and elevator.

The townhome was built by architect Grosvenor Atterbury.

Kuzmichev’s net worth is north of $7 billion.
