Billionaire Marlins Owner Bruce Sherman Asking $18.9M for Naples Penthouse

Private Capital Management co-founder and Miami Marlins owner Bruce Sherman listed his penthouse on the Gulf Coast of Florida this month. Sherman is hoping to find a buyer with $18.9 million to invest in the building, which went up about twenty years ago, and stands as the premier high-rise residential address in the scenic city of Naples. Sherman has owned the property since 2003, when he paid $9.5 million for it.

The unit’s 12,050 square feet includes five bedrooms and six baths. The design style is heavily influenced by Asian sensibilities, with a Zen garden occupying a chunk of the interior living area, and varied décor embellishments originating from Eastern cultures.

Following the building’s architecture, the unit’s design style also incorporates a series of luxurious curving flourishes, with the kitchen, the ceilings, the walls and even some of the furniture all participating in a graceful interplay.

The unit’s amenities include a media room—something of a rarity in even the upper tier of high-rise residential living—as well as a games room with a wet bar, and a formal dining room. Floors in stone or hardwood, support columns, and a seemingly endless array of oversized windows are also featured heavily in the design.

Sherman founded PCM in 1985. His purchase of the Marlins occurred in 2017; his partners in the $1.2 billion enterprise include Michael Jordan.
