One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson Selling Hollywood Hills Home for $7M

One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson recently listed his Los Angeles-area home for $6.995 million. The “X Factor” judge is likely to sell the Hollywood Hills home at a loss, though; he picked up the contemporary manse for $7.3 million about 2.5 years ago.

The lower-than-expected list price isn’t indicative of the style or quality of the home. Built in 1937 in a Spanish Colonial-meets-Art Deco style, the 6,000 square-footer’s exterior architecture boasts early modern and Spanish features. It has also seen a series of updates that have brought a strong contemporary dimension into the mix.

Potential buyers will likely be drawn to classic contrasting features like white walls and very dark hardwood floors. Simple yet chic, the four-bedroom, five bath house stands out with an airy, step-down main living space marked with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireplace, and rounded deco-style flourishes. The home’s switchback staircase boasts a solid etched glass balustrade.

The kitchen adds complexity to the home; its warmer-toned cabinetry and soft grey subway tile is a departure from the very stylized common area, and its dayroom looks out over the city. Multiple terraces, a patio, and an infinity-edge pool also take advantage of the excellent views.
