Olympic track star Michael Johnson is selling his Marin County townhouse for $1.2 million. The four-time gold-medal-winning runner’s Corte Madera home is already pending sale.

Considering the residence’s incredible location about half of a mile from the San Francisco Bay, it’s not surprising that a buyer was spurred to act fast. Add the home’s fairly private location, and the simple, modern, elegant design of the 1,690 square-footer, and you’ve got an easy sale at just over a million.

The three-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhome features a common living space with double-height ceilings, wall of large windows, and central fireplace. Further inside, the small but chic kitchen impresses with mid-tone hardwood floors, subway tiles, and updated cabinetry with brass fixtures. The kitchen flows to a dining space with glass sliders leading to the garden and patio outside.

Johnson has apparently moved south to Malibu. He purchased a home there last year for $5.825 million.
