Lenny Kravitz Signs Another Leica Collaboration With $24K M Monochrom ‘Drifter’

Leica has once again collaborated with Lenny Kravitz. This time, the team has created a beautiful new shooter called the “Drifter,” a unique take on the M Monochrom model.

The pair’s first project, called the “Correspondent,” went over well with the Leica crowd, merging bohemian, German utilitarian, luxury, and a bit of classic photojournalistic design cues. This second effort is a bit of a departure…what with the snakeskin and all.

The wrap is vegan python leatherette, not real snakeskin. The new rangefinder receives its chic styling from Designed by Kravitz Design, and the company’s chic environmental sensitivity gets full expression. “Drifter” comes complete with a vegan leather camera bag, two lenses (a Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH and an APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH), two lens quivers, and two additional accessory pouches. A brown matte finish and raw brass buttons and knobs enhance the look.

The Leica x Lenny Kravitz “Drifter” complete with its travel case is available for $23,950. This special version of the Leica M Monochrom will be limited to just 125 examples.
