Luxury boutique camera brand Leica has introduced an impressive new shooter perfect for filmmakers…and film lovers, too.

The Leica M10-P “ASC 100 Edition” is a still camera created specifically with filmmakers in mind. Two new modes distinguish the special camera from a traditional M10-P, making it appropriate for cinematographers on a day off, or cineastes on any day at all. Each provides a very different ‘film’ appearance for photographs.

The first is the “ASC Contemporary” mode designed to imitate the “digital style” of modern movies. The second new feature is the “ASC Cine Classic” mode, which replicates the uniquely grainy look of 35mm film.

Photographers will also have the ability to capture images using popular cinematography aspect ratios, so they’ll be able to examine a scene using a variety of lenses prior to filming.

The ASC 100 was designed to honor the American Society of Cinematographers’ 100th anniversary. In keeping, it shows off a customized look complete with the ASC logo, as well as a gold Leica Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH lens.
