Following the successful sale of more than 350,000 Macans, Porsche is giving the popular SUV a refresh. In 2019, the design will look a little bit different.

The updates to the upcoming Macan model year are the most significant since the 2014 introduction of the vehicle. It includes interior and exterior design upgrades, as well as a series of technological changes. Debuting in Shanghai, the 2019 Macan maintains many of the same exterior elements, but boasts a few noticeable changes.

The incoming Macan’s lower, wider stance is one of the more obvious changes, but a few smaller alterations to the bodywork are also evident, and increase the vehicle’s sporty style. The 2019 Macan also benefits from newly designed 20- and 21-inch wheels.

Inside the cabin, the automaker emphasized comfort. Driver-assist programs like Traffic Jam Assist and lane-centering steering assistance are brought into play, and an air ionizer and a heated windscreen augment the car’s appeal to the luxury car buyer.

Some of the most exciting changes come as tech updates, though. A standard 11-inch touchscreen interface tops the list, but standard live traffic data, smart voice control, and Offroad Precision App for more easily navigating off-road terrains don’t hurt at all. This segment of the market is rather saturated, and Porsche is keeping its Macan strictly visible among the throng.

No word as of yet on a new price to fit the changes, but the 2018 Macan base stickers at $48K.
