Rapper and businessman Dr. Dre has picked up a Calabasas mansion for $4.9 million.
Located in a gated community in a celebrity-filled Los Angeles-area suburb, the musician’s new real estate acquisition was originally built in 1997. Since then, the 9,400-square-foot Mediterranean-style home has seen a full suite of modernizing updates. The interiors are warm and very expansive, with 12′-13′ ceilings in the living areas, excellent room-to-room flow, and plenty of glass.
The home’s potential for entertaining is considerable. A well-proportioned living room, cool home theater, and games room offer plenty of opportunity for rest and relaxation. The home also features a wet bar/lounge room with a marble fireplace, gym, and home office space.
The home contains six bedrooms and 5.75 baths. The master suite features a fireplace and private terrace. Nearly every room boasts incredible views of the mountains beyond. The three-quarter-acre property is well-landscaped for privacy, and boasts lush lawns, a barbecue area, a fire pit, a tennis/sports court, and a swimming pool with a spa.
Although Dre is best known for his own music, he’s also the founder of Aftermath Entertainment, and a successful producer who has helped fellow stars 50 Cent, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg define their art, and convert it into hit records.
