BMW is offering a few design updates for its 4-Series vehicles. The M4, convertible, coupe and Gran Coupe are all getting a little bit of a facelift.

Beginning with cars built for the European market, the exterior upgrades include standard LED headlamps, tail lamps and fog lights, newly designed rear bumper, and cosmetic flourishes such as additional alloy wheel designs and paint colors, and a front bumper accent on upper-echelon models of the line.

The interior now features double-stitched dash, and a little more flash in gloss black, wood and chrome trim. There are three new upholstery colors for buyers to choose from. The cabin upgrades fill out with digital instrumentation, and an upgraded steering wheel designed for performance driving.

Aside from a new, stiffer suspension, the lineup will continue to receive the same fundamental mechanics: the 440i’s 3.0L twin-turbo straight six-cylinder and 430i’s 2.0L four-cylinder turbo still produce 320HP and 248HP, respectively. The transmission options of six-speed stick and eight-speed automatic are also unchanged, and BMW will continue to offer the xDrive AWD system as an option on both. The M-variant—always a special case—is still offered with a Competition Package that tweaks the 3.0L twin-turbo S6 to produce 444HP which, when combined with the six-speed manual transmission, will propel the M4 from still to sixty in 3.8 seconds.

The model upgrades and revisions are expected to apply to the North American market within the year.
