Japanese car brand Lexus will debut its new Kinetic Seat Concept as a standalone display at the 2016 Paris Motor Show that runs during the first week of October.

To cope with the many stresses put on the human body, the new seat concept uses a seat cushion and back rest that have been designed to move kinetically based on the seated person’s weight and external forces. In doing so this helps stabilize head movement created by a vehicle’s motion, thus inducing more comfort creating a better field of vision.

Another feature of the concept seat is a spider-web like patterned upholstery that is actually synthetic spider silk. Using the protein-derived, microbial-fermented material offers higher shock absorbency and is more environmentally protective than the oft-used petroleum-based fibers used in car seats.

This net consists of flexible threads that spread out from the center of the backrest to fit around various body shapes and disperse the load, making sitting more comfortable for longer rides.

Lexus will also show off its UX Concept car, the new NX Sport Edition, and the popular LC coupe at the Paris Motor Show.
