Although advancements in portable cameras have made it possible for the average Joe to become a filmmaker, not every would-be director has a steady hand.

Now GoPro users don’t have to worry about unstable video capture with the advent of Aeon, a robotic handheld stabilizer. The new device features a flush-mounted LCD screen for framing each and every shot and is easily powered by a long-lasting rechargeable battery.

Filmmakers simply use the 3D analogue joystick to pan and tilt the camera for a variety of shots. Built-in stabilization hardware powered by a Cortex CPU 32 bit processor ensures that resolution doesn’t suffer while providing digital stabilization.

Crafted to fit easily in the hand, Aeon is made from injection molded ABS plastic and only weighs about 1.10 lbs. Water resistant and compatible with GoPro HERO3 and HERO4 models, it’s the perfect accessory for the budding videographer.

Aeon already met and surpassed its Indiegogo goal of $50,000, but interested customers can still preorder Aeon for $349. Aeon is expected to ship in March 2016.
