The latest news from Texas tuning company Hennessey concerns the McLaren 765LT. The speed and performance mavens have come up with an extensive package for the long tail model, including a series of engine, turbo and exhaust alterations that will bring the McLaren 765LT’s horsepower figure to an even 1,000. Hennessey calls the package the HPE1000.

To be sure, the insane rating is comparatively sane for Hennessey, who last year gifted track drivers with the 1,817-horsepower production version of the upcoming Venom F5. But it should suffice.

The 765LT arrives in stock form with 757 HP on tap, according to McLaren. Hennessey’s in-house testing puts the number at 765. Either way, it’s a generous enough dose. But with the horsepower bump, the McLaren will now make the trip to 60 MPH in just 2.1 seconds.

The HPE1000 package includes ECU calibration re-mapping, an upgraded exhaust downpipe and general exhaust ‘opening’, new air filters, and chassis calibration.

The Hennessey HPE1000 package is priced at a whisker under $25K.
