Actor and director Elizabeth Banks and film and television producer Max Handelman—founders of Brownstone Productions—sold their Studio City residence this month, Variety reports. The couple accepted an offer of $2.425 million for the midcentury ranch.

The home has been sensitively renovated in a style inspired by period modern sensibilities.  The galley kitchen really shows off the style, with wood trim blending with light grey cabinetry, subway tile, and stainless.

The shared living area is largely open-concept, and wide-plank white oak is finished natural. Custom cabinetry and built-ins bring additional warmth to the home, and an exposed timber doorway adds a surprising and welcome lick of rusticity, giving the house a bit of substantial historical reference.

The lot contains a separate media/screening studio, as well as a guest apartment and a pool house. All told, there are four bedrooms and four baths in the property’s 3,230 square feet.

Banks’ directorial debut was 2015’s Pitch Perfect 2, which grossed $69 million in its opening weekend—a record for a first-time director. She and Handelman received production credits on the film.
