In the home monitoring world there are now plenty of options. However, Netatmo wants you to give their “Welcome” home-monitoring camera a look.

Netatmo has features you’d expect from home monitoring cameras. They connect remotely to apps on iOS, Android, or PC devices so you can view the camera from anywhere with Wi-Fi with a 130 degree view of the room. What sets it apart from other similar devices is the facial recognition feature. The camera will recognize a person and can deliver a custom recorded message based on who it is in the camera’s view.

The camera can also be set up to record at certain times. It can also send you notifications based on who it is recording and follow certain people more than others, so you can keep a close eye on your teenager while you are away.

Pricing for the Welcome has yet to be set as it is not scheduled to go on sale until the latter part of 2015.
