Bulgari’s newest timepieces will stimulate the imaginations of those familiar with the brand’s history. The serpent-shaped watches, part of the company’s iconic Serpenti line, feature a new iteration called ‘Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewelry.’ The collection calls on the company’s Secret series.
Bulgari Serpenti watches of the past have been more suggestive and less ornate; previous entries include the Serpenti Spiga and the more traditional Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon. Bulgari also once riffed on the Serpenti theme for the ‘Eyes on Me’ Serpenti jewelry collection. But the newest batch from the watchmaker is fully dressed in gemstones, and veers away from suggestion and into formal representation. They feature Bulgari’s ‘Ultra Small’ movement, the BVL 100.
The four new catalog entries include white gold with green lacquer, rose gold with black lacquer, rose gold fitted with diamonds and turquoise, and white gold fitted with diamonds. The ornate timepieces are operated by way of the tongue, which opens the serpent’s mouth to reveal the dial.
Pricing for Bulgari’s Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewelry watches starts at $166K.
