Jaguar recently unveiled the 2021 iteration of its entry-level crossover, the E-PACE, which will arrive in U.S. dealerships around the New Year with a cosmetic dust-up and a few substantial tech updates.

The 2021 E-Pace has entry-level shoes to fill, as it effectively replaces the XE sedan, which was discontinued after this model year. It also indicates Jag’s dedication to a crossover-heavy lineup.

The E-Pace’s body receives little noticeable alteration but for narrower LED headlamps, LED taillights, and a slightly redesigned grille. But the cabin receives the treatment that, for many buyers walking into a JLR dealership with ~$45K to spend, will tip the scales in the salesperson’s favor—the list includes a new always-on, always-connected Pivi Pro-driven infotainment system controlled via an 11.4-inch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen, and a new wheel.

Engine choices remain unchanged for the upcoming model year—the base engine is a 2L turbo four-cylinder producing 246 horsepower; that can be bumped up into the PHEV 300 Sport variant’s 296-HP hybrid setup—but the new Premium Transverse Architecture platform, according to Jaguar, provides greater agility and comfort.
