Alien co-producer David Giler put his longtime home in Los Angeles up for sale this summer for $2.2 million. The property—which has presumably not been offered for sale for decades—is very private, features edge-of-wild landscaping, and is anchored by a 1963-built English country cottage-style home of slightly less than 2,500 square feet.

With a wealth of red brick, hardwood, and wood-framed windows and French doors, this home is incredibly warm. Its sensibilities turn back the clock a few decades, but in the best possible manner; the earth-toned glazed tile used in the kitchen and baths adds a well-defined artisanal layer to the décor; the kitchen’s cobalt-blue is especially effective in the context of all the warmth.

The master bedroom—one of three in the house—is rife with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and features a set of French doors that open onto the outdoor living area. Brick defines the pool and patio area; the pool is freeform, and surrounded by ebullient plantings, mature trees, and shrubs, as well as a pergola and a covered lounge.

Giler’s big-screen credits include Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, and Alien: Covenant—all major box-office hits.
