Metal musician Jason Newsted, a one-time bass player for Metallica, has listed his Bay Area home for $2.89 million.

The customized Walnut Creek mansion spans 6,720 square feet. The exterior features Victorian-inspired architecture, and is currently dressed in pale blue. The home is flanked by exuberant clusters of mature trees.

Within, the home is very well executed. The kitchen and dining room both contain unusual details; the former emerald green subway tile, teal blue cabinetry, and white countertops and floating shelves, and the latter a ceiling fresco. Hardwood floors, detailed moldings, and designer fixtures also distinguish the house.

The five-bedroom residence crowns a fairly large lot which is landscaped as classic Americana. Outdoor living spaces include a large patio, a wraparound porch, and private terraces for bedrooms.
