Bruce Willis Lists Private Estate Near Manhattan for $13M

Bruce Willis has put his Westchester County compound up for sale, pricing the 23 acre, multi-residence property at $12.95 million. Willis has owned the bucolic retreat north of Manhattan for about five years; he shelled out $12 million for it in the summer of 2014, according to public records.

The estate is comprised of two lots, and anchored by the sprawling shingled residence on the larger of the two, which features a marvelously sprawling footprint, and an aristocratic, multi-chimney country-house roofline that is dominated by a cupola observatory.

The house measures 8,950 square feet, and contains five bedrooms. Interiors of the 2009 build balance traditional comfort tropes with a bit of modern style, but the overall effect suggests urbane farmhouse; open-trussed ceilings, oak floors, fireplaces, built-ins, sash windows, French doors, and stone accents all contribute to the living style. The home has a spacious feel, and a pleasing familiarity.

The other three houses on the property offer supporting roles in the overall estate; most interesting is an updated colonial-style, dressed in thunderhead grey and boasting a modest portico entry, and featuring a wide-open shared living space and three bedrooms. A pair of smaller shingled homes that measure a little over 1,600 square feet total complete the accommodations, although there is also a small studio on the lot.

Willis’ high-profile silver-screen role of the year may be in M. Night Shyamalan’s new film ‘Glass’; the superhero flick opens this week.
