Zaha Hadid’s condo in the W Hotel and Condo tower has finally found a buyer. The architecturally striking residence recently sold for $5.75 million. It had been initially listed at $10 million a little over a year ago, before being reduced to $6.5 million in November of last year.

The Miami Beach condo was designed by the preeminent contemporary starchitect in 2009. It’s a little surprising that the unit didn’t sell for closer to its original $10-million ask, especially given the surprising recovery of the South Florida luxury real estate market.

But, then, the home is a very individual expression. The 2,500-square-foot residence boasts three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Created by combining two smaller units, the oceanfront condo wows with a distinctly futuristic look marked by sleek curving lines, plenty of mirrors, and a bright white color palette. Hadid’s tongue-in-cheek humor, sci-fi riffing, and penchant for pop-culture reference are on full display.

Beyond its uniquely futuristic design, the unit features incredible views of the water thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows in the great room-style central living space. The combination living and dining space also opens to a spacious corner balcony looking out over the water.

Hadid reportedly used the condo when she was in town working on her One Thousand Museum skyscraper. The project, one of her last, was incredibly ambitious in design.
