A Hollywood mansion formerly owned by Elizabeth Taylor is now available for $15.9 million.

The iconic Hollywood starlet purchased the beautiful manse in 1954 with her then-husband Michael Wilding; the couple owned it for about six years. The home hasn’t surfaced on the market frequently; this is the first time it has been available to purchase in more than twenty years.

Stretching to 7,761 square feet, the luxurious ranch house is located on two gated acres and boasts incredible views of the city in the distance. There are six bedrooms and seven baths, in addition to a number of expansive entertaining spaces.

The interior styling is a little dated, but the future owner has quite a bit of space to work with, as well as an excellent layout; the large living room with beamed ceilings, the formal dining room, and the large kitchen are all open and airy.

The exterior is just grandiose enough to qualify as a golden age Hollywood retreat, with a few classical embellishments, an ornate water feature, and formal landscaping. The grounds incorporate a patio, a swimming pool, and a spa.

Taylor earned her reputation as an actress in “National Velvet”; she went on to star in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.” She was paid a million for “Cleopatra,” becoming the first star to command seven figures for a movie.
