A Darien, Connecticut, estate recently listed as one of the most expensive listings in the country…even after a significant price reduction. The current price tag on the property is a tidy $120 million. But, then, there are upwards of half a dozen freestanding residences included in the price.

The 63-acre island property was originally listed in 2016 for what could have been a record-breaking $175 million, had it sold for its asking price or close to it.

Still currently Connecticut’s most expensive listing, Great Island boasts a full mile of Long Island Sound coastline and has its own bridge connecting it to the mainland.

The 13,000-square foot main home was built in 1902. It’s a stone-clad Colonial, and is quite beautiful. It features expansive entertaining spaces decked out with plentiful windows, glass doors, and luxe materials. In addition to its seven fireplaces, the home is accented with herringbone wood floors, vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, and chandeliers.

The home’s nine bedrooms include a very large master suite. The sanctuary features a large walk-in closet, a fireplace, and a private balcony.

Outside, there are a number of additional buildings designated for guests and staff. A dock that will accommodate yachts up to 100′, gardens, woods, terraces, an 18-stall granite stable, riding arenas, and a swimming pool round out a quick look at this extraordinary residence.
