Lucy Liu Puts California Home on the Market for $4.2M

Lucy Liu’s listed her detail-rich Fryman Canyon craftsman-style home for sale for $4.2 million. It’s a beaut.

Unless you’re into the stark contemporary thing, the kind of house that looks so detached it needs medication, you probably won’t be able to not be charmed by this one. The exterior is executed in moss-green shingles and natural wood doorjambs and window surrounds. In the context of its verdant setting, the house’s architecture and look gives it a transplanted Northern Cal feel.

The interiors give the eye plenty of work, but do not fatigue. Floors in the foyer, kitchen, dayroom, and baths are tiled, generally with ornamental inlays. Hardwood floors run through the bedrooms, livingroom, library, and other common living areas. There’s a whole lot of warm wood involved, including fireplace mantels, one of which is well and truly a knockout.

The home measures just south of 4,100 square feet, and contains four bedrooms and five baths. The master suite incorporates a sitting area and study. Windows here, and throughout the house, take in park-like property views, belying the property’s half-acre size.

The exterior of the property features slate patios, a pool with an elevated stacked-stone spa, and a pool house that looks like a hip 1970’s literary salon.

Liu’s recent film roles include that of ‘The Queen’ in James Franco’s pop-culture broadside ‘Future World’; the movie opens this week.
