Katy Perry Relists in Hollywood Hills for $9.3M After Tiny Price Cut

In May of last year, Katy Perry moved into a fairly extravagant home in Beverly Crest, quietly snapping up a 1950’s estate crowned with a 5,500 square-foot modern/traditional home for $18 million. After a whisper listing in June yielded no suitable results in selling her previous residence in Hollywood Hills, Katy Perry went ahead and hefted the residence onto the open market last October with an asking price of $9.45 million.

And there it remains. Hoping a small price reduction and a dose of spring fever can stimulate a successful offer, however, Perry dropped the asking price this week to $9.3 million.

Perry purchased the home and an adjacent lot in 2013 in two transactions totaling $11.2 million, and the property includes 2.33 acres of the four-acre lot. The house is another mid-century amalgam, this time around a Mediterranean mix that borrows freely from Spanish-style and Italianate influences. Indoor living spaces—including the a two-level guest house and the detached studio on the property—extend to a little more than 7,400 square feet.

The interiors are bright and quite open. White or warm off-white walls, plentiful glass, and pale exposed wood give the home a pleasingly washed-out feel. The interior architecture blends Tuscan, American Traditional, and cottage-style design elements. There are quite a few surprises here: alcoves, nooks and crannies set off by vaulted ceilings give the home the charm of discovery.

The property exterior should be very influential in buyer decision-making. The two acres of grounds are punctuated by gardens, citrus trees, terraces, patios, tiered landscaping, stone walls, and walking paths, all arranged around the pool/sunlounge with fire and water features that acts as a central place of gathering.

Perry is currently on tour in support of her 2017 studio album ‘Witness’; the tour concludes in August.
