German Tuner ABT Turns the Audi RS5 Into a Meaner Version of Itself With RS5-R Offering

Custom auto tuner ABT has transformed the already impressive Audi RS5 into a leaner, meaner machine. A neat trick, but they pulled it off.

The German shop’s new RS5-R boasts a number of carbon fiber additions, including aerodynamic pieces on the bumper corners, a hexagonal grille surround, and a new front splitter. Customers can also opt for carbon fiber side strakes, front fender vents, a rear lip spoiler, and a bold rear diffuser.

The RS5-R benefits from added power, of course. ABT tweaked the RS5’s native 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, opening it up enough to boost the horsepower to 53o and torque to 509 lb-ft, a substantial boost. In addition to upping the horsepower by 80, the Audi also includes upgraded exhaust outlets and several suspension modifications.

While the supercar’s 3.6-second zero-to-62 mph leap is no doubt exciting, the ABT version of the RS5 brings anti-roll bars, height-adjustable springs, a coil-over suspension with ABT shock absorbers, and ABT Sport GT 21-inch wheels to the picture. And, it looks better than ever, which is a substantial compliment.

ABT is only producing 50 examples of the RS5-R. Pricing TBA.
