Most automotive tuners cater to the extrovert that’s deep inside all of us, and struggling to leap out; exaggeration is the rule, a kind of body-building of existing design language, and the exaggeration more than occasionally strays into downright hyperbole.

For the most part, tuner Wald International usually manages to straddle the not-so-fine line between the two, presenting revised luxury cars that appeal to the unique sensibilities of the well-heeled young urbanite that has very definite ideas about the design cues that indicate performance-minded and confidently individual.

Wald’s Black Bison editions have been rolling out of the tuning company’s design division for a few years now, and include a Black Bison Rolls that puts an acutely present-tense spin on the otherwise time-proof image of the aristocratic English ride. Other Black Bison projects include an ongoing Mercedes series, which blends pop-culture and track design cues to present a uniquely mean-looking S-Class.

Most recently, Wald has presented the world with a Black Bison edition of a 7-series BMW. Even for a tuner with such a reputation for coming up with aggressively stylized flourishes, the result of Wald’s latest efforts is a car with attitude to burn. The boutique-industrial wheels, LED strip lights on the bumpers, new back bumper, and tinted glass give it a decidedly extravagant look.

No word yet on the price of the Black Bison kit for the 7-series.
