American super-tuner and designer Hennessey has hit us with a recent one-two punch: only last week, they unveiled their Venom F5 hypercar, which, according to the company, is capable of a top speed of 301MPH. This week, they introduced an impressive new take on the VelociRaptor 6×6, a different animal, to be sure, but just as cool.
Available for $295,000, the pick-up is being touted as one of the best trucks ever built. The special conversion will be available for the 2017 and 2018 Ford Raptor F-150. “Our VelociRaptor 6×6 is pure aggression on wheels—all six of them,” said CEO John Hennessey in a statement.
Appearing at the SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas, the souped-up truck concept was built with off-road enthusiasts in mind. Similar to last year’s VelociRaptor performance conversion, this new take packs a lot more power than the standard model, increasing the horsepower from 450 to 600 horses.
This starting price also gets the buyer an upgraded Raptor with updated Fox suspension, custom bumpers, LED lights, a black roll bar, 20-inch wheels, off-road tires, and 6×6 locking rear axles. Additional tuning elements, like stainless steel modifications, a retuned factory computer, and a front-mounted air-t0-air intercooler and plumbing, make the special model stand out.
Customers can also opt for just the VelociRaptor 600 twin turbo upgrade, without the 6×6 configuration, for $22,500.
