Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt has listed a 1920’s Spanish eclectic-style home in Los Feliz. Oswalt—whose credits include providing the voice of gifted chef Rémy in Pixar’s ‘Ratatouille’—is asking $2.49 million for the property.

The house is a charmer. The façade presents an arched alcove entrance with a pendant fixture, weathered stucco, a series of Palladian windows, and a second-floor Juliet balcony. A brick walkway leads up from the street.

Renovations have left the home’s original interior atmosphere nearly intact; recessed lighting in the kitchen, family room and dayroom are the only clear concessions to contemporary style in the common living area. Original architecture includes arched room dividers. The home’s flooring appears to be original plank hardwood; maple, generally.

From the slate-floored foyer, which presents a gracefully curving staircase and an ornamental window, the home’s flow is very pleasing, and throughout the home the emphasis is placed on understated embellishment. The living room fireplace is crowned with a simple hardwood mantel, light fixtures are fairly plain sconces, and ceilings are unornamented with the exception of exposed beams. In the dining room, a Spanish colonial-style chandelier holds court, and pendants illuminate kitchen and dayroom.

The home seems to find its sense of style mainly through various wood tones, including window surrounds and doorjambs.

There is a small guest house on the property, located above the garage, which has been converted to an entertainment room. There are four bedrooms and four baths amid 3,600 square feet of living space overall.

Oswalt appeared in this year’s ‘The Circle.’ 2017 will also see Oswalt in ‘Nostalgia’; the film looks at loss as a force of human connection.
