Harry Winston blends traditional U.S. style with the beauty and elegance of Swiss watchmaking in its Histoire De Tourbillon timepieces. The HDT 8 is the next step in the model’s evolution.

The HDT 8 features the same double tourbillon setup in the Calibre HW4503 movement, and the rotating biaxial tourbillons are on full display through the sapphire crystal. The movement itself measures in at 43mm and offers a power reserve of 55 hours, with the power-level indicator at 6 o’clock. The changes are mainly aesthetic, but impressive.

The 51mm case is 17mm thick and crafted out of white gold with a single crown on the right side. The dial features either a black and anthracite gray or black and red look, which carries to the stitching of the black alligator leather strap.

The right side of the dial holds the time-keeping discs, with the hours on top and the minutes on the bottom. These rotating discs are made out of aluminum. Nestled in between is “No. 8,” and on top is the phrase Histoire De Tourbillon. Other small facets of the dial come in the form of sanded, satin, and grained textures, paired with honeycomb features to stylistically break up the display.

Harry Winston’s Geneva-based shop will only make 20 examples of the Histoire de Tourbillon 8, with 10 in each color scheme being manufactured. Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but the HDT 7 was offered at $600,000, so the HDT 8 will surely be somewhere in that ballpark.
