Indian Motorcycles has added a pair of new special edition versions of its Chieftain model, the 2017 Chieftain Limited and 2017 Chieftain Elite.

The new limited edition models come after the successful limited edition 2017 Jack Daniels Indian Chieftain model—the 100-bike production run sold out in 10 minutes. Indian Motorcycles was pleased with the result.

It has been said that the new Chieftain Elite will be limited to 350 examples. The Chieftain Limited is limited in name only: no production limits have been announced for this model.

Both new bikes boast a “sawed off” front fender, an increasingly popular design feature many fans have loved in newer Indian models. Both also share the same 19-inch contrast-cut front wheel and complementing 16-inch rear wheel.

The pricing for the Chieftain Limited starts at $24,500, only $500 more than the regular 2017 Chieftain. It comes with a Thunder Stroke 111 engine, an infotainment system with a 7-inch display, anti-lock brakes, and a 100-watt audio system.

The Chieftain Elite begins at $31,500 and is the top-of-the-range Chieftain model Indian will offer during this model year. Each and every one of the 350 examples will come with a hand-painted Fireglow Red Candy with Marble Accents paint job that takes 25 hours for Indian’s team to complete. No two examples of the Elite will be alike, but no other color choice is available.
