One of the oldest houses in New York City, this 1852-built Brooklyn townhome has been sold for $2.3 million. Until very recently, it belonged to actress Lake Bell and her husband, tattoo artist Scott Campbell.

Bell and Campbell first listed the historic six-bedroom townhouse last summer for $3 million and, after a pair of price cuts, papers were finally signed for a $700,000 discount.

The home is a part of the Wallabout Historic District, an area designed by the Landmarks Preservation Commission back in 2011 to include 200 significant buildings along Vanderbilt Avenue.

Bell picked up the estate back in 2015 for $1.55 million and modernized it. Renovations included a new rustic-chic kitchen, upgrades to the bathrooms to give them a spa-like feel, and a few other touches around the interior. The upgrades didn’t include any alterations to the original architectural details of the home, including the ornate mantles and exposed brick.

Bell is known for her role in movies such as “In a World…,” “No Strings Attached,” and “The Secret Life of Pets.” She has also appeared in TV shows such as the adult comedy “Children’s Hospital” and “How to Make It in America.”

Campbell is a tattoo artist to the famous; his clients include Sting, Robert Downey Jr., Orlando Bloom, Josh Hartnett, Marc Jacobs and Howard Stern, among others.
