Popular Swiss watch brand MB&F wowed the crowd at the 2017 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie with its new Horological Machine No. 7 Aquapod, a diving watch from Maximilian Busser’s workshop offering a water resistance of a little over 160 feet.

Clearly made more for looks than function as an actual diving watch, the HM No. 7 Aquapod comes in a 53.8mm case that is made of 95 parts. The case is also the first round Horological Machine timepiece designed by MB&F. The HM line usually comes with a unique shape, and though the Aquapod is round, the shape is definitely one-of-a-kind.

MB&F gave the HM No. 7 Aquapod a healthy dose of luminant that makes the watch stand out in times of darkness or underwater.

The spherical sapphire crystal dome of the Aquapod houses a 303-piece movement that offers a 72-hour power reserve and an underwater theme, which is shown with the automatic rotor that recalls the look of jellyfish tentacles.

The Aquapod is attached to a black strap crafted from aircraft-grade Fluorocarbon FKM 70 Shore, which is a rubber-like elastomer.

MB&F will offer the Horological Machine No. 7 Aquapod in two finishes, 18K rose gold and titanium. Thirty-three titanium examples will be made with about a $98,000 price tag, and 66 rose gold editions will be crafted with around a $118,000 asking price.
