Tom Felton, of ‘Harry Potter’ Franchise, Sells Hollywood Hills Home Over Asking

Tom Felton recently sold a home in Hollywood Hills West, fetching $176K over the asking price. The home had been listed at $1.449 million, and sold for $1.625 million. The actor made out quite well.

The house, located in Nichols Canyon, is a 1920’s construction, and pleasantly unpretentious. Much of the hardwood flooring appears to be original narrow plank. Elsewhere, as in the master bath, the spirit of the home is retained through period styling.

At 1,700 square feet, two bedrooms and two and three-quarters baths, the house is quite manageable, and the brick fireplaces add a bit of solidity to the living room and, especially, the master bedroom; there is a great deal of brick, giving the home a nice historical reference. The floor plan is typically Californian—that is, open, with easy flow from room to room, and floor to ceiling windows, as well as glass doors leading to the exterior, lend the impression of comfort and relaxation, especially in the master. The kitchen may be a bit tight, but the hexagonal-tiled floor is original, and looks toward the glass wall of the dining area, and patio beyond.

Outside, there is, of course, the requisite pool, nicely bordered in brick, and a nice little landscaped demarcation. Altogether, the property has the creative look of a 1920’s artist’s residence.

Tom Felton is best known for his villainous turn as character Draco, providing essential balance to the Harry Potter universe. Most recently, he appeared in Amma Asante’s ‘A United Kingdom,’ released this past autumn; in 2013, he appeared in Asante’s ‘Belle.’
