Cynthia Nixon, famous for the role of Miranda Hobbes on HBO’s Sex and the City, has a new East Village co-op this week. She and wife Christine Marinoni reportedly spent $1.49 million for the two-bedroom home in a pre-war 12-story building.

Among the living spaces—refitted with herringbone hardwood—are an open living room with space for an informal dining area; an intimate, dishwasher-equipped galley kitchen, a window-side breakfast nook; and a master bedroom currently set up as a home office.

Updates on the kitchen have included the addition of white cabinets and open shelving. Beamed ceilings throughout help unify the spaces, and the home still sports its original moldings.

A laundry room, a bike room and a gilded-look marble lobby are among the building’s amenities.

Aside from her breakout role as Miranda Hobbes, Nixon has also had roles in indie dramedy Igby Goes Down and a star turn in 2000’s Advice from a Caterpillar. She is three quarters of the way to an EGOT, with a pair of Emmys (a Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series win for Sex and the City and another for a 2008 guest role on Law & Order: SVU), a Best Spoken Word Performance Grammy for her reading of An Inconvenient Truth and the 2006 Tony for Best Actress for her work in the Pulitzer-winning Rabbit Hole.

Until late 2012, she owned an Upper West Side apartment. Just before unloading it, she closed on a $3.25 million co-op on Bleecker Street with Marinoni. No word yet on whether they intend to sell the Bleecker Street spot.
