Writer and producer David Chase, an Emmy-winner seven times over, is looking to unload two adjacent penthouse apartments in West Chelsea’s London Terrace complex for a combined $16.5 million.

Susan Sontag resided in the larger of the apartments until the author and activist’s 2004 death, but it would still be another nine years before Chase purchased it for $9.6 million.

Over its 2,700 square feet, it includes bleached herringbone wood floors and contemporary white-on-white styling throughout. The eat-in kitchen has a streamlined acrylic look with cabinets that meld seamlessly into the counters, in addition to the requisite crème de la crème stainless appliances , a walk-in pantry and a fireplace.

Another fireplace heads up the well-appointed living room, which features windows on three of its four sides. The two guest bedrooms have attached baths, and the master suite includes a reading room, an astounding six closets and frosted glass doors in contemporary black frames that open to the master bath with marble floors.

The second penthouse, purchased two years ago for $4.6 million, includes a corner living room, two beds, two baths and another eat-in kitchen. The units have been approved for a unification, and have reportedly piqued the interest of Alec Baldwin. He’d be joining an all-star crowd in London Terrace. Current and former residents include Debbie Harry of Blondie, Law & Order’s Sam Waterston and Nicole Kidman.

Chase, a 40-year television veteran himself, had his first major success with the 1992 Emmy-winner for Best Drama, Northern Exposure, though he is best known as the creator and Executive Producer of HBO’s The Sopranos.
