Florida’s Le Palais Royal, one of the most expensive homes in the U.S., is becoming even more luxurious.

Two years ago, the incredible 60,000-square-foot mansion with 465 feet of oceanfront land was listed for $139 million. Now the price tag of the impressive estate has been raised to $159 million, but even with the increase, it’s no longer the most expensive U.S. home. That spot has been overtaken by a lavish mansion in Bel Air that’s expected to be listed at $500 million.

There’s even a more expensive home in the state of Florida now. The position is currently held by an 82,000-square-foot, Boca Raton-area mansion that’s available for $195 million. Yet, with construction continuing on Le Palais Royal, there’s no saying what the price may be when the Hillsboro Beach compound is completed.

“The property has taken so long to be completed because they kept improving the quality and continue to raise the bar at each construction milestone. It’s being built like a crown jewel,” said listing agent Mayi De La Vega.

The 11-bedroom, 17-bath main residence, however, is already finished, complete with accents like a $2-million white African marble staircase, a 150-year-old Austrian chandelier, and $6 million worth of gold leaf finishes.

A stand-out “La Cuisine du Chef”  kitchen with mahogany cabinetry, a La Cornue range, Brazilian marble countertops, and hand-molded plaster with 22-karat gold leaf finish is also ready for action. Additionally, a private IMAX theater, a 4,500-square-foot infinity pool complete with a 12-foot cascading waterfall, and an LED waterslide are also ready to be enjoyed.

Yet, there’s still Phase 2. Expected to be ready in 2018, two guesthouses with their own pool, an ice skating rink, a nightclub, and a go-kart track are still waiting to be built.
