The Via 57 West “courtscraper” in New York is one of the city’s newest outlandishly designed buildings. Its designer, Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, has created a chair for furniture brand Fritz Hansen honoring the unique shape of his building.

The VIA57 chair was originally designed to be used in the lobby and lounges of the tetrahedron-shaped residential building and was launched to celebrate the completion of the tower.

The custom chair sits on four wooden legs and features a triangular seat that extends into its upholstered back. The VIA57 chair comes in blue, gray, red, and yellow color options. It can be used individually or placed alongside another chair to create a small sofa.

The Via 57 West building just opened this past March and boasts 709 rental units, an indoor basketball court, and a screening room.

Ingels was also tapped to submit a design for Two World Trade Center last year. His vision was well-received, which gives him a good chance of winning the bid.
