Owning a Bentley Mulsanne already offers a sense of luxury, but for 50 lucky owners of the upcoming 2017 Bentley Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase First Edition, the smell might be a luxuriously woody.

This is because the First Edition will feature wood trim sourced from a 350-year-old walnut tree that was once the third-oldest tree in England. A storm knocked down the ancient walnut in 2007 and a short time later Bentley dropped down a record sum for the special wood. Bentley has already offered the exclusive wood trim in fifteen of its vehicles, including the Mulsanne 95 special edition.

Sadly those who don’t grab the Extended Wheelbase version of the Mulsanne First Edition won’t get to boast about their special walnut and will have to settle for the “antique ash” trim option.

All First Edition models come with special badges and stitching that combines the Union Jack with the words “First Edition” worked into the design.
