Last year Vacheron Constantin introduced its 57260 pocket watch, the most complicated watch in the world that took three of its famed craftsmen eight years to complete.

This year the now 261-year-old Swiss brand has given the world the Maitre Cabinotier Armillary Tourbillon timepiece, a follow-up to the 57260 created by the same three master watchmakers, though this example is a little less complicated.

The Maitre Cabinotier Armillary Tourbillon features two of its complications from the 57260, notably because it is in the name, the armillary tourbillion, and also the double retrograde indication.

The timepiece is powered by Vacheron Constantin’s Caliber 1990, a manual-winding movement that sports a 65-hour power reserve. The unique armillary tourbillon is visible from all angles, showcased on the watch’s face, seen through the clear backing, and visible again via a cutout on the side of the case.

Speaking of the case, it is made out of 18kt white gold and attached to a Black Mississippiensis alligator strap with a white gold folding clasp.
