High-price luxury homes can take a long time to sell since the market is so small. The Gucci sisters are now selling their father’s Fifth Avenue Duplex and hoping its sordid history won’t affect the sale.

Their father, Maurizio Gucci, had originally purchased the apartment in the 1970s, but he was murdered in 1995 after his ex-wife put a hit on him.

The eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bath Fifth Avenue penthouse in Manhattan is currently listed for $45 million by Alessandra and Allegra Gucci. Currently renting for $60,000 a month, the sisters have opted to sell the expansive property since they now spend the majority of their time in Europe.

The 9,500-square-foot duplex at the Olympic Tower features two kitchens, wood-burning fireplaces, and elevators. The apartment also offers panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty, New York Harbor, and One World Trade Center.

With a top-floor, wood-paneled library with a limestone inset, 14-foot ceiling, and 28 full-length windows, it’s a unique property with incredible views.
